About The Position

As a Senior Paralegal, you will work as part of a team to help protect one of the world’s most recognized and valuable brands. In this cross-functional role, you will collaborate closely with the in-house legal team, outside counsel, investigators, and internal business partners on a broad range of brand enforcement and licensing matters across the Americas.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • At least six years of intellectual property experience in a law firm or comparable in-house position, including trademark enforcement and investigations.
  • Experience managing matters across multiple jurisdictions and working directly with foreign counsel.
  • Familiarity with electronic filing systems, including those of the USPTO.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple matters simultaneously, and effective in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, reliable, and personable, with the confidence to work alongside attorneys, business teams, and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • A paralegal certificate is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CompuMark tools, gray market goods enforcement, and submitting takedown requests on e‑commerce platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with supervising attorneys and outside counsel to investigate and address counterfeiting and infringement activities throughout the Americas.
  • Conduct trademark, marketplace, and online investigations involving third-party marks and potentially infringing uses.
  • Review watch notices, analyze trademark landscapes, summarize findings, and provide clear, practical recommendations to attorneys to support enforcement decisions.
  • Identify recurring issues and enforcement risks and escalate matters when appropriate.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, coordinating among in-house attorneys, internal business teams, investigators, and outside counsel on brand enforcement and licensing matters.
  • Manage communications with local counsel regarding the ongoing management of matters across multiple countries.
  • Create, maintain, and oversee case files in internal intellectual property databases, including docketing, tracking deadlines, managing filings, and monitoring the status of enforcement, opposition, and licensing matters across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ensure that all records are accurate, up to date, and reliable in order to support attorneys with decision-making, reporting, and risk assessment.
  • Assist with the preparation, review, and administration of legal documents—such as cease-and-desist letters, license agreements, affidavits, and other IP-related materials—under attorney supervision.
  • Support agreement execution processes, including quality-control reviews, signature coordination, and compliance tracking related to coexistence, settlement, and licensing obligations across the Americas.
  • Develop strong partnerships with brand teams to understand business objectives, protect brand identity, and identify strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the IP team by helping to develop internal guidelines, playbooks, training materials, and efficient workflows.
  • Assist with process improvements that enhance consistency, scalability, and the overall quality of service provided to the business.
