About The Position

GCG Automation & Factory Solutions is currently seeking a Sr. Outside Sales Account Manager to join our team and drive revenue growth across the greater Nashville, TN area. As a Sr. Outside Sales Account Manager, you will leverage your technical aptitude, relationship-building skills, and in-depth business-to-business sales knowledge to expand market share in and around Nashville, driving revenue growth with new and existing customer accounts. In this role, you'll focus on strategically important accounts, building long-term relationships and developing a deep understanding of customers’ business goals and challenges. You’ll use those insights to propose solutions, capture new business opportunities, and align Automation and Factory Solutions resources to support their success. This position offers a remote work arrangement but does require frequent car travel to customer sites within the metro Nashville area. Accordingly, being located within this territory is a requirement.

Requirements

  • 7+ years' expertise in technical sales related to electrical industrial automation or experience working with electrical controls (required)
  • Driver’s License with a clean driving record (required)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM
  • Knowledge of sales principles, tactics, and strategies
  • High degree of professionalism, dependability, self-direction, and time management
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present information and sell products and services in a highly competitive environment
  • Ability to organize and balance multiple priorities

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering, or related discipline; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with stakeholders and influencers and learn the ins and outs of the customer
  • Regularly interface with customers to share GCG’s value propositions and solutions
  • Coordinate with other internal stakeholders to service accounts
  • Coordinate with Application Engineers, CSMs, and CSRs to handle customer issues and requests
  • Build and exercise extensive account knowledge, including holistic client business performance, future state business plans, and competitor relationships to capture new business and enable account growth
  • Understand customer strategies and challenges
  • Identify and land new strategic partnerships
