Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. We are currently seeking a dynamic leader that can support the transformation of key manufacturing sites in Raynham and Bridgewater, MA. The Sr Operations and Transformation Leader will be responsible for leading the operational readiness for key projects coming into the site(s) in support of the overall Joints Reconstruction Supply Chain Strategy and on-going continuous improvement transformation. Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree and/or University degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive experience including experience leading teams.
  • Project Management experience and/or New product introduction experience.
  • Strong project management, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build interdependent partnering relationships that facilitate the accomplishment of Operations goals/objectives.
  • Proven understanding of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word required.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • Senior Production Management experience preferred.
  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with MES or ERP Systems and understanding of routers and process flows.
  • Knowledge of capacity planning, financial competence and a basic understanding of lean manufacturing technologies preferred.
  • Formal lean training and/or certification preferred.
  • Formal 6-sigma/operational excellence training and/or certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a FDA regulated environment preferred.
  • May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel to other locations and sites

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting and deploying the site transformation strategy.
  • Lead the operational readiness activities required for local and network projects.
  • Will be the operations liaison between the project teams and the site(s) for all activities that impact current or future manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible for key milestones in planning, preparation, and execution of assigned tasks within projects that impact the ability to right to produce and right to sale products through product transfer, new product introduction, or other key network strategic initiatives.
  • Forecast machinery, material, system, and equipment needed to meet requirements of new and existing products.
  • Lead team focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, proactive solutioning, and integration of methods, systems, processes, products, and technologies into new and established value streams.
  • Will provide leadership support to manufacturing operations associated with Orthopaedics production value streams at the Raynham and Bridgewater sites as required.
  • Responsible for communicating key information related to risks, opportunities, and deliverables on a regular cadence and escalate to senior leadership as necessary to enable successful outcomes.
  • Responsible for crafting a culture of development and inclusion, to retain talent and develop a robust succession plan throughout the organization as part of the Joints Reconstruction MAKE Supply Chain Leadership Team
  • Responsible for maintaining good communications and consistent policy application to employees on all shifts.
  • Supports planning, scheduling, manufacturing, and packaging of existing and newly developed products in areas of assignment in compliance with all regulatory and GMP requirements in an efficient manner and in accordance with planned budget.
  • Maintain and improve quality standards and production processes through continuous improvement and operational excellence principles
  • Lead, mentor, and coach employees demonstrating agility and resilience with a focus on empowerment and learning and development using a growth mindset.
  • Set the standards for performance assessment and feedback, effective communication, promoting positive morale and supporting employee involvement programs.
  • Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of integrity, ethics and compliance at all times.
  • Ensure EHSS and QA objectives and targets are established for their employees as applicable to their role, training is assigned and completed timely, and procedures are implemented, followed, and supervised to ensure compliance.
