About The Position

Assures site drawdown readiness through systems engineering analysis. This role involves analyzing site hydraulic issues, conducting model analyses to determine vapor pressure impacts on crude oil movements, and providing technical input to cavern/equipment selection during drawdown. The engineer will assess process system risks, analyze system rotating equipment performance, and prepare Failure Analysis Reports. Responsibilities also include maintaining the technical baseline and SPR design basis, functioning as the owner for site Mechanical Operations Manuals and P&IDs, reviewing and approving site process changes, operating and maintaining site models, and preparing and sponsoring Engineering Change Proposals. Additionally, the role provides customer systems engineering support to DOE, including operational systems engineering analyses and studies, day-to-day site systems engineering support, and systems engineering consulting services. Project support includes providing process engineering oriented design review, system readiness feedback for drawdown, and preparing test plans for new equipment or systems, with participation in testing and acceptance.
