About The Position

Seeking a Nurse Practitioner with cardiology experience to manage the outpatient care of patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, diagnosing and managing common cardiac conditions, developing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, providing patient education, coordinating care, participating in quality initiatives, and documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record.

Requirements

• Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current RN and NP licensure.
• National certification as an Adult-Gerontology NP, Family NP, or Acute Care NP.
• Current DEA and prescriptive authority as required.
• BLS certification required.

Nice To Haves

• ACLS preferred.
• Cardiology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including history and physical examinations.
• Diagnose and manage common cardiac conditions such as: Coronary artery disease, Heart failure, Hypertension, Atrial fibrillation and other arrhythmias, Hyperlipidemia, Valvular heart disease.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and laboratory studies.
• Prescribe medications and adjust therapies according to evidence-based guidelines and state regulations.
• Provide patient and family education on disease management, lifestyle modification, and medication adherence.
• Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services.
• Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
