Sr. New Product Development Engineer, ICP
About The Position
Littelfuse is seeking an experienced Senior New Product Development Engineer to lead the development, design, validation, and introduction of innovative circuit protection products. The role drives new technology initiatives, evaluates emerging materials and technologies, and supports the product development lifecycle from concept through commercialization. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in fuse design and circuit protection products, along with project management and cross-functional collaboration skills. The engineer will develop concepts and prototypes, create engineering specifications and documentation, conduct verification and validation, analyze results, and identify product improvements. The role also supports continuous improvement, investigates industry trends, prepares technical reports, coordinates with manufacturing and quality teams, interfaces with customers, and supports compliance with industry standards and third-party certification requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
- At least 10 years of experience designing electrical power fuses, fuse accessories, or related circuit protection products.
- Strong knowledge of fuse design principles and circuit protection technologies.
- Understanding of industry standards, certification requirements, and third-party approval processes such as UL or equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing environments and product industrialization processes.
- Project management experience and ability to lead multiple development activities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including spreadsheets and documentation tools.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar 2D/3D CAD software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and product testing capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, quality, and customer-facing teams.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, and commercialization of new circuit protection products.
- Develop and evaluate new product concepts, prototypes, and engineering solutions.
- Create mechanical specifications, engineering drawings, design documentation, and cost estimates.
- Develop and execute product verification and validation test plans.
- Analyze test results and identify opportunities to improve product performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction and product optimization.
- Research materials, technologies, and industry trends to identify innovation opportunities.
- Procure samples, build prototypes, and test them to validate design concepts.
- Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and project updates for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and cross-functional teams to support successful product launches.
- Work directly with customers to understand application requirements and develop product solutions.
- Participate in project reviews and provide progress updates to leadership and project teams.
- Support compliance with industry standards and third-party certification requirements.
