The Sr. Network Systems Test Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, automating, and executing test plans, as well as debugging software for enhancements and new products. This role involves providing constructive feedback, reporting issues, and collaborating with developers to ensure top-tier product quality. The engineer will use network troubleshooting tools, including packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, and customer input, to resolve issues effectively. Additionally, they will determine hardware compatibility and may influence hardware design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • 15+ years experience in networking systems testing.
  • Expertise in Networking, Campus fabric switch fundamentals and commonly used L2 protocols (xSTP, VLAN, DHCP, Dot1x, LLDP, LACP), interface, and Virtual Chassis.
  • Strong programming scripting skills in languages like Python is a must
  • Master on Linux OS and related tools, and AI tool like Copilot
  • Strong network troubleshooting skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Able to work well independently and in a team

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with configuring and setting up Juniper switch is a plus
  • Network certifications (or equivalent training/experience) are an added advantage
  • POE technology experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develops organization-wide architectures and methodologies for software Quality Test plan across multiple platforms and organizations within the Global Business Unit
  • Design/develop automate test scripts for product feature qualification.
  • Provide constructive feedback, report issues, and interact with software and hardware teams to deliver best in class product quality.
  • Utilize available network troubleshooting tools, including network packet captures, monitoring devices, log files, and customer inputs to facilitate effective issue resolution.
  • Work on customer issues for internal reproduction and provide correct action plans
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with management regarding testing status, project progress, test results, and issue resolution.
  • Provides guidance and coaching/mentoring to less-experienced staff members
