About The Position

ANS is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. This position is contingent upon contract award. The role involves planning, analyzing, designing, developing, testing, securing, integrating, implementing, operating, and maintaining custom network and cybersecurity solutions. The engineer will interpret customer requirements, apply industry-standard design approaches, and develop secure network designs aligned with DISA STIGs and enterprise policies. This position also involves supervising other network support specialists and developing design products and processes for team efficiency.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI clearance and Polygraph required
  • 16 years of experience (combination of work history and education: Doctorate and 8 years, master’s and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years)
  • Compliant with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2
  • Experience specific to network engineering to include Tier III or higher network operations and/or network design and implementation
  • Working knowledge of Cisco, Brocade, and/or Juniper switches and routers
  • Proven experience implementing and troubleshooting routing protocols in a production network (OSPF, BGP, 802.1q)
  • Understanding of DNS
  • Proven experience implementing and troubleshooting standard switching in a production network (802.1q, trunking, CAN/LAN environment)

Nice To Haves

  • Network engineering and design experience with MPLS WANs, network management tools applications, and firewalls
  • Expert knowledge of routing and switching protocols and the ability to demonstrate knowledge through briefings and documentation
  • Extensive BGP experience
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Plan, analyze, design, develop, test, secure, integrate, implement, operate, and maintain custom solutions.
  • Interpret customer requirements and apply industry standard design approaches for service delivery.
  • Fully document designs with diagrams, bill of materials, cabling sheets, configurations, and ability to brief designs.
  • Use private test lab to evaluate new technologies, test proposed changes, and recreate troubleshooting scenarios.
  • Schedule maintenance windows for migrating user connections from legacy to modern infrastructure with minimal impact.
  • Provide technical expertise to Operations engineers and technicians for fault isolation and resolution.
  • Develop secure network designs including configurations that align with DISA STIGs and enterprise policies.
  • Obtain Authority to Operate (ATO) for new devices, software, and capabilities.
  • Supervise other network support specialists to plan, coordinate, and implement network services.
  • Develop and improve design products, processes, and systems for team efficiency.
