About The Position

The Global Network and Distribution operations team is responsible for maintaining NBCU’s corporate and broadcast network. We are looking for an engineer who has a broad spectrum of knowledge with all networking technologies. Being in the operations team requires an understanding of all parts of the network. This includes working with vendors and clients to resolve issues, and collaborating with other network teams such as engineering, architects, and automation teams to understand the changing network and troubleshoot problems. We maintain a 24x7 on-call rotation. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate not just with engineering and automation teams within GND, but also with a wide range of clients who work on core NBCU business.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in network engineering.
CCNP equivalent.
Experience and understanding of Routing and switching (QoS, BGP, OSPF, redistribution, mpBGP, eVPN).
Experience and understanding of Firewalls, NAT, DMZ, Security Rules, FW management.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot issues spanning multiple technologies.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of Software Defined products, respective alert and monitoring.
Cisco ACI, Arista, VxLAN, wireless, python or Ansible scripting.
Ability to collaborate with automation and reliability teams to fine-tune alerting and monitoring.
Experience with AAA (Authentication / Authorization / Accounting) software (ISE/ClearPass).
Knowledge of WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise & PSK, RADIUS and 802.1X and PKI concepts.
