MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Network Engineer, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of supporting national security, defense operations, and critical infrastructure protection. You will play a crucial role in designing, securing, and maintaining resilient network architectures that enable uninterrupted communication, real-time data sharing, and mission-critical system availability, ensuring that operational objectives are achieved efficiently and securely in dynamic and high-stakes environments. Design and architect scalable, secure voice, video, wireless, and data communication networks Lead development of high-level and low-level network designs (HLD/LLD) Deploy and integrate Cisco-based enterprise and data center solutions Configure and support advanced technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VXLAN, and EVPN Serve as a trusted technical advisor to stakeholders and senior leadership Translate complex technical requirements into actionable strategies and architectures Collaborate across multiple technical disciplines including security, cloud, and DevOps Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment managing competing priorities Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and perform root cause analysis Identify and implement performance, reliability, and security improvements Develop automation solutions using Python, Ansible, or similar tools WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Network Engineer Sr Principal must have: Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (or equivalent experience) Experience: 10+ years of related experience Technical skills: Routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) LAN/WAN architecture and deployment Network monitoring and performance tools (SolarWinds, NetFlow, Wireshark). This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
