About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA IOEE/IOSEE) program in Springfield, VA. This is a hybrid position requiring one day per week in the Springfield GDIT office or as needed by the mission. The role involves supporting network engineering design and implementation for technology refreshes, developing requirements from inception to conclusion, and managing assigned projects with regular status updates to leadership and the customer. The work includes planning, performing, and documenting laboratory assessments of hardware and software for DISN Services, coordinating with the government customer to create Technology Assessment Plans (TAP), preparing After Action Reports (AAR), identifying new network capabilities, developing product evaluation criteria, and ensuring interoperability between DLA WAN and DISN network equipment and services.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree).
5+ years of related experience.
Active Secret clearance with favorable Tier 5 investigation.
Current IAT Level III certification.
Current CCNP-E certification.
Current CCSA certification.
Network engineering experience in unclassified and classified environments.
Familiarity with Standard LAN/WAN protocols, BGP, MPLS and LDP in a service provider environment.
Experience with network design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Experience with device configuration (multi-vendor environment).
Experience with wired, wireless, voice, and video technologies.
Ability to manage multiple assigned projects and report status and implementation plans.

Responsibilities

Planning, performing, and documenting laboratory assessments of hardware and software for both classified and unclassified DISN Services to ensure proper connectivity and operations between the DLA WAN, the DLA's NOC, and DISA's NOCs.
Coordinating with the government customer to create a Technology Assessment Plan (TAP) to include objectives, scope, equipment and configurations, technical approach, procedures, schedules, and roles and responsibilities required to complete the DLA LAN technology refresh and upgrades.
Preparing After Action Reports (AAR) that document the approach taken, results, recommendations, and supporting rationale.
Identifying new and emerging network capabilities as well as developing product evaluation and selection criteria.
Developing system evaluation methods and procedures.
Producing formal documentation of recommendations for executive briefings.
Ensuring interoperability between DLA WAN and DISN network equipment and services.
Planning and tracking of implementation tasks.
Creating necessary supporting configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance processes and procedures.
Managing assigned projects and tasks.
Providing regular status updates to contract leadership and the customer.
