About The Position

The Global Network Engineering & Operations (GNEO) organization is responsible for the architecture, engineering, and operational integrity of the enterprise’s global telecommunications and network infrastructure. GNEO’s mission is to design, deliver, and operate scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions that support business capabilities across all regions and lines of business. GNEO engineers and designs advanced network and transport systems to meet evolving business requirements, strategic initiatives, and long-term technology roadmaps, including a wide range of transport and IP topologies, modern network services, automation frameworks, and standards-based network architectures aligned with Telecom Strategy & Architecture guidelines. The Sr. Network Engineer identifies and delivers telecommunications, WAN, MAN, LAN, and Wi‑Fi solutions that meet business requirements across the enterprise. This role designs network architecture, implements solutions, and provides proactive status to Business Units. The engineer also evaluates evolving telecom/network technologies and serves as a consultative interface to Business Units for new initiatives. The role collaborates with outsourced suppliers and vendors to communicate GNEO/Telecom requirements and reviews proposed solutions to ensure designs align with business needs and established standards.

Requirements

  • 5 years progressive experience in LAN design, configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting; project coordination experience preferred.
  • 5 years of professional experience in a computer-related department.
  • 5 years of experience in networking, design, implementation, and support.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record collaborating with cross-functional technical and managerial teams to resolve complex problems.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong ownership and follow-through.
  • Strong knowledge/experience in wide and local area network design, configuration, installation, evaluation, and problem resolution.
  • Working knowledge of LAN environments, including hardware, software, and cabling for Ethernet; experience with platforms such as Cisco Nexus/ASR.
  • Experience interfacing network services with Wireless, VoIP, and Video Conferencing in a multi-platform environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and deliver projects (plans/schedules, implementation, quality gates) in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Strong knowledge of network security and firewalls.
  • Solid understanding of fiber-based networks.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A Bachelor's degree in a technical-related field, appropriate certifications, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with automation/scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible) and infrastructure as code concepts.
  • Cisco CCNA and advanced network certifications.
  • Familiarity with zero trust, micro‑segmentation, and SASE/SD‑WAN architectures.
  • Exposure to cloud networking (AWS/Azure/GCP), transit/Virtual WAN, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Knowledge of wireless design (site surveys, RF planning, controllers) and performance tuning.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and deliver telecommunications, WAN, MAN, LAN, and Wi‑Fi solutions that meet business requirements across the enterprise.
  • Design network architecture, implement solutions, and provide proactive status to Business Units.
  • Evaluate evolving telecom/network technologies and serve as a consultative interface to Business Units for new initiatives.
  • Collaborate with outsourced suppliers and vendors to communicate GNEO/Telecom requirements and review proposed solutions to ensure designs align with business needs and established standards.
  • Translate business requirements into scalable, resilient network designs across WAN/MAN/LAN/Wi‑Fi.
  • Produce architecture artifacts (HLD/LLD), bill of materials, and implementation plans aligned to Telecom Strategy & Architecture standards.
  • Implement and hand off solutions with clear test plans, method of procedures (MOPs), and rollback strategies.
  • Provide proactive project/status updates to Business Units and stakeholders, track risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Evaluate emerging telecommunication and networking technologies; recommend fit-for-purpose solutions and roadmaps.
  • Partner with outsourced suppliers/vendors to communicate requirements; review and validate designs, proposals, and changes for technical completeness and business alignment.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across layers 1–7, driving root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions.
  • Contribute to capacity planning, performance baselining, and resilience improvements (HA, redundancy, DR).
  • Leverage automation and network management tools to improve reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to security standards, segmentation policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Support Wireless, VoIP, and Video Conferencing services integration within a multi‑platform environment.
