About The Position

The NetIQ Open Text Identity Manager Senior Engineer (NetIQ OpenText) is responsible for providing advanced technical expertise to support and resolve application and infrastructure issues within complex Identity Manager environments, with a primary focus on NetIQ Open Text Identity Manager drivers. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring active involvement in driver design, configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and deployment. The role independently analyzes and resolves complex production issues, performs root cause analysis, and implements corrective actions to prevent recurrence. It evaluates service requests, changes, and operational activities for alignment with service standards, policies, and procedures, identifying risks and taking appropriate action where needed. The role also coordinates and executes project and maintenance activities, monitors IDM services and integrations for improvement opportunities, and recommends practical solutions to enhance stability, efficiency, and performance. Requirements

  • NetIQ OpenText Identity Manager technologies, production support, and enterprise application environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of IDM concepts including provisioning, authentication, authorization, user lifecycle management, access controls, integrations, and operational support processes.
  • Hands-on support, maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of NetIQ Identity Manager drivers, including investigating driver-related incidents, resolving production issues, monitoring driver performance, supporting deployments and configuration changes, and ensuring reliable integration between IDM and connected systems.
  • Experience with IDM platforms, connectors or drivers, and troubleshooting complex incidents is essential.
  • Strong relationships and effective collaboration are essential to resolving issues and delivering reliable IAM services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support for production NetIQ Open Text Identity Manager (IDM) services by investigating incidents, troubleshooting operational issues, and prioritizing work based on severity, risk, and business impact.
  • Monitor issue queues, support tickets, and service requests, and drive timely resolution to minimize disruption.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes to prevent recurrence, with a focus on service stability, security, and client satisfaction.
  • Support, maintain, and enhance IDM applications, integrations, and driver-based services across the environment.
  • Perform hands-on configuration, deployment, validation, and troubleshooting of IDM components, ensuring solutions align with operational standards, security requirements, and platform best practices.
  • Contribute to ongoing maintenance, system health monitoring, and continuous improvement of IDM processes and services.
  • Work closely with business partners, technology teams, infrastructure teams, application owners, vendors, and support teams to resolve issues, communicate impacts, and coordinate service restoration or change activities.
  • Build strong working relationships and ensure stakeholders are informed of relevant updates, support processes, risks, and policy or control changes affecting IDM services.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in assessing the impact of planned system changes, releases, and projects on NetIQ Open Text Identity Manager services and production environments.
  • Support delivery activities by partnering with Engineering, QA, Infrastructure, Security, and Project teams to ensure changes are implemented in compliance with organizational standards including security, continuity, compliance, and privacy requirements.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend improvements to procedures, standards, and technical solutions, and support issue resolution during system incidents and outages.
