Sr. MTS, Software Engineer
About The Position
PayPal, Inc. seeks Sr. MTS, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA. This role involves designing and implementing new, highly scalable, resilient, and available services, microservices, publishers-subscribers, and batches. The engineer will create high-level and detailed technical design documents based on business requirements and technical aspects. Collaboration with architects and design review board members in San Jose is expected to align with PayPal's Roadmap on new products and Technology-Platform changes for Payments Data Services. The role also includes conducting Design Reviews for all projects within the Payment Data Services Platform and reviewing and approving all code pull requests. Partial telecommuting is permitted from within a commutable distance.
Requirements
- Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
- Software development, designing and implementation
- Building Highly available, fault tolerant services using Java/J2ee frameworks(Springs, Struts, Hibernate, RestEasy
- Object Oriented Programing using Java/J2ee.
- Database Design; Multi Thread Programming.
- Version Control tools (Git, SVN).
- Testing Frameworks (Junit, TestNg, Mockito, Power Mock, Selenium);
- Continuous Integration systems, (Hudson/Jenkins); Bug Tracking Tool (JIRA).
- Design Patterns; Algorithmic Concepts.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Design and Implement new, highly scalable, resilient and available services / microservices / publishers - subscribers/ batches.
- Create both high-level and detailed technical design documents according to the business requirements and technical aspects.
- Work with architects and design review board members located in San Jose to align with PayPal Roadmap on new products and Technology-Platform changes for Payments Data Services.
- Conduct Design Reviews for all the projects that are getting developed in the Payment Data Services Platform.
- Review and approve all the code pull requests.
