About The Position

Amazon LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. As a Sr. Mobility System Engineer - Algorithms, you will be responsible for developing algorithms for mobility terminals. You will be working in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team. In this role, your responsibilities include: Developing pointing and tracking algorithms enabling seamless pointing and tracking towards LEO satellites by mobility terminals. Evaluating various sensors and fusing the inputs from sensors such as GNSS, IMU, and MAG. Developing simulation tools to validate the software and hardware. Developing models to validate various mobility terminal-related algorithms. Collaborating with software engineers to implement/integrate software packages, validating the design with simulation and field measurements. Proactively engaging with internal and external development partners on systems’ hardware and software architectures and implementation. Ensuring delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory, and business requirements. Performing in-field tests and validation of various CT architectures. Expecting up to 10% travel depending on the phases of the projects. Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. A day in the life As a Sr. Mobility System Engineer - Algorithms on the Leo Customer Terminal Team, you will work daily with electrical, hardware, RF, antenna, silicon, and product design engineers, as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting, developing, integrating, and verifying customer terminal core algorithms to ensure they delight our customers. About the team The Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices, enabling customers internet service via the Leo satellite network. We own the entire process from early prototypes through mass production including requirements documents, architecture definition, hardware development, and all integration/verification testing.
