About The Position

Bergey’s Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician to operate an on-road service truck and provide warranty, preventive maintenance, and repair services for medium- and heavy-duty vehicles. This role involves traveling to customer locations to deliver high-quality mobile service. The position is Monday-Friday and offers the opportunity to work independently and grow within a supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Mechanical repair experience 3+ years (diesel, automotive, or related field).
  • Willingness to learn about our products and systems.
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative.
  • Clean driving record and current DOT Medical Card.
  • Possess and supply a set of hand tools required for the job.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring, air conditioning systems, engines (gas and diesel), and air brake systems.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) services, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles in a field environment.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems, including electrical, wiring, cooling systems, starters, alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, air conditioning systems, diesel and gas engines, transmissions (manual/automatic), clutches, differentials, hydraulic and steering systems, and air brake systems.
  • Collect and document repair information; communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Upload pictures, parts usage, and repair findings into Repair Orders (“RO”) using a company-issued iOS device and our proprietary TRAIT application.
  • Complete all DOT and company documentation accurately and on time.
  • Maintain and operate a company-issued service truck, including safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
  • Work independently, managing your own schedule and productivity while meeting Standard Repair Times.
  • Use logic and reasoning to troubleshoot, evaluate alternatives, and recommend effective solutions.
