About The Position

Salesforce is seeking a Senior Manager of Corporate Development Operations to join their M&A Deal Team. This role will focus on leveraging AI to streamline operations, automation, and analytics within the M&A process. The position requires intellectual curiosity, an innovative mindset, strong analytical skills, and a focus on process optimization. The ideal candidate will be adept at data analysis, critical thinking, and comfortable working with executives. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Corporate Development, Finance, GTM, and Business Technology to automate processes, analyze M&A pipeline data, and prepare materials for the Board of Directors. The position is based in San Francisco and requires 3 days a week in the office.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of total experience and a strong educational pedigree.
  • Previous experience in management consulting, data science, strategic finance, or M&A.
  • Experience working in the M&A and the technology sector preferred.
  • M&A experience - understanding of financial and valuation metrics; ability to identify and track business and operational key performance indicators.
  • Acumen to analyze data and identify inconsistencies and present findings.
  • Extremely adept at integrating disparate information, correlating data, and understanding data trends into research papers or briefings with guidance.
  • Experience using AI tools for process improvement, within M&A a plus.
  • Experience with data quality assessment and implementing solutions to improve data quality.
  • Ability to build rapport, credibility, and trust with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strategic vision to produce credible analysis based on numerous interrelated data sets.
  • Ability to empower, collaborate, and work optimally in a team environment.
  • High level of energy, passion, and dedication to success; utmost respect for confidentiality.
  • Strong business judgment and attention to detail.

  • Experience with business visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own standardized reporting, pipeline metrics, and readouts.
  • Lead analysis on the portfolio of M&A deals, pipeline, and inbounds not pursued for acquisition or investment.
  • Leverage Salesforce AI products and other AI tools (e.g., Claude, Gemini) to streamline processes and create efficiency.
  • Support market, industry, and company research and analyses.
  • Own the reporting and analysis for the Salesforce Investments portfolio, including monitoring performance, valuation, and gains.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator for preparing M&A program materials for the Board of Directors, executive leadership team, and Corporate Development leadership.
  • Own the development of the Salesforce M&A org’s enterprise tools, including feature development, managing reporting of inbound and outbound conversations, and maintaining records.
  • Support the M&A Deal team on acquisition strategy and proactive ideation or execution on Deals as required.
