About The Position

Develops and grows commercial relationships with business members including commercial real estate investors across all major asset classes. Drives new business through proactive prospecting, developing a strong center-of-influence network, and a consultative approach as a trusted advisor. Structures credit solutions, partnering with internal teams to deliver loans, deposits, and Treasury Management services while maintaining strong credit quality and policy compliance. Mentors analysts and supports team execution to deliver an excellent client experience and achieve production goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics finance or accounting.
  • Completion of a formal bank credit training program.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of credit/commercial lending experience with a focus on commercial real estate lending across all asset types.
  • Demonstrates strong learning agility and ability to think creatively to support the growth of the department.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and coach analysts and partner cross- functionally to drive team results.
  • Thorough knowledge of the underwriting and loan closing process for commercial loans particularly CRE.
  • Proceed with a sense of urgency to prospect/member requests.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workflow.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining and growing a loan portfolio by delivering tailored banking solutions that meet member needs and generate loan, deposit, and eventually treasury management revenue.
  • Solicit new business members to achieve loan origination goals through a disciplined business development plan while assessing credit risk to minimize loss.
  • Proactively expand the centers-of-influence (COI) network and serve as a trusted advisor to members and prospects to identify needs and structure effective banking solutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to mentor and coach analysts and partner cross- functionally to drive team results.
  • Partner with Private Client Services, Wealth Management and the branches for cross referrals.
  • Advance transactions through the credit approval process, coordinating stakeholders and deliverables.
  • Support the department’s onboarding of a new commercial loan origination system.
  • Strong pipeline management discipline and the ability to identify pipeline improvements in Salesforce.
  • Prioritize workflow effectively by applying strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Monitor existing and new loans at least annually to confirm risk ratings are accurate, covenants are satisfied, and credits are managed to approval conditions and portfolio standards.
  • Train and educate other BCU departments on business and commercial lending products, processes, and credit standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department continuity and efficiency; provide support to the Department Manager as needed.
