Sr. Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician

It involves advanced troubleshooting, repair, installation, wiring, and modification of electrical, automation, mechanical, and process equipment. The position also supports preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime. The technician will troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, sensors, motors, VFDs, control circuits, and industrial automation systems. They will interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, equipment drawings, and process documentation. The role provides technical guidance to other employees and supports equipment reliability and continuous improvement, while maintaining compliance with safety, cGMP, and company requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in industrial, manufacturing, facilities, electrical, automation, or equipment maintenance preferred.
- Strong electrical, controls, automation, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience with: PLCs — Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar, HMIs, VFDs, Motors, Sensors and instrumentation, Control circuits, Electrical control panels, Pneumatic systems.
- Ability to install, wire, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical and control systems.
- Strong understanding of AC/DC circuits, 24V and 480V systems, electronics, and electrical controls.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Knowledge of industrial/process equipment and automation systems.
- Pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with cGMP facility requirements.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
- Experience using CMMS Maximo or similar maintenance management systems.
- Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical direction to others.

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and evaluate industrial and process equipment.
- Respond to emergency equipment failures and customer concerns.
- Install and wire electrical control panels, automation systems, instruments, and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair: PLCs and programmable controllers, HMIs, Sensors and instrumentation, Motors and motor-control circuits, VFDs, Control circuits, Pneumatic systems, HVAC/air-handling equipment, Exhaust fans, Control valves and actuators.
- Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or similar platforms.
- Configure and troubleshoot programmable HMIs and process-control interfaces.
- Work with AC/DC circuits, 24V and 480V systems, electronics, and soldering.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, modification, and troubleshooting of equipment and facility systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Inspect equipment for unsafe, abnormal, worn, or malfunctioning conditions.
- Test repaired or modified equipment to verify safety, quality, and operational performance.
- Document repairs, inspections, PM activities, troubleshooting, PLC changes, and equipment modifications.
- Maintain work records in CMMS Maximo and equipment logbooks.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and internal departments.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other technicians/employees.
- Recommend equipment upgrades, reliability improvements, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Follow NFPA 70E, LOTO, PPE, respirator, Tyvek, and other safety requirements.
- Support cGMP facility operations and pharmaceutical manufacturing requirements.
- Maintain flexibility for varying schedules, emergency response, and occasional local travel.
