About The Position

The Senior Director, Medical Director (Heme Oncology) serves as the primary medical and scientific authority for Servier’s high-priority oncology portfolio in AML, MDS and ALL. This executive leadership role is responsible for designing, developing, and executing the strategic Medical Affairs plans to support and maximize the understanding of how these assets bring value to HCP’s and patients in an ever changing and competitive clinical landscape while also looking for and capitalizing on lifecycle management opportunities. The position bridges clinical development, commercial strategy, and external clinical practice by translating complex scientific data into actionable medical strategies that drive advances in the therapeutic area.

Requirements

  • MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD with an advanced concentration in life sciences is required.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressive biopharmaceutical industry experience within Medical Affairs or in combination with Clinical Development.
  • At least 5 years dedicated specifically to strategic Med Affairs role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-million dollar medical budgets and leading cross-functional matrices without direct line authority.
  • Deep familiarity with regulatory compliance frameworks, including FDA guidance on SIUU, OIG guidelines, and international promotional standards.
  • Ability to lead teams with and without direct line reporting.

Nice To Haves

  • An MD/DO with board certification or eligibility in Medical Oncology or Hematology is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the annual Global/US Medical Affairs strategic plan, aligning seamlessly with medical cross functional partners and then with broader clinical development and commercial brand milestones.
  • Integrate clinical insights, health economics, and real-world evidence (RWE) to build a cohesive medical platform that addresses unmet patient needs and demonstrates product value.
  • Allocate and manage the global or regional Medical Affairs budget for the assigned oncology brand, optimizing resource allocation for maximum strategic impact.
  • Collaborate closely with Medical Value and Evidence teams to generate data that support HCP’s aligned data gaps as well as patient access.
  • Establish and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with leading national oncology experts, cooperative clinical trial groups, and medical societies.
  • Design and chair medical advisory boards to capture critical expert insights on evolving treatment landscapes, diagnostic paradigms, unmet clinical needs and feedback on Servier data and strategic planning.
  • Represent the organization as a principal scientific spokesperson at key medical symposium and other external events where science is shared.
  • Serve as the definitive Medical Affairs voice within the cross functional enterprise leadership teams, partnering with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, and Market Access and commercial.
  • Provide oversight of rigorous scientific review and medical sign-off on all promotional, educational, and scientific materials via the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process, ensuring strict compliance with FDA/EMA guidelines.
  • Collaborate with Medical Science Liaison (MSL) leadership to design impactful scientific training programs, ensuring field teams are equipped to communicate complex Scientific Information on Unapproved Uses (SIUU) or approved indications safely and accurately.
  • Work hand in hand with pharmacovigilance to ensure the safe use of Servier Heme oncology products and monitor the safety risk balance of all Servier products.
