LLE is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Engineering Analyst to support experimental operations through data-driven analysis, technical evaluation, and hands-on testing. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong STEM background who enjoys problem-solving, working with technical equipment, and collaborating across engineering teams. The successful candidate must be willing to work shift assignments 1–2 times per week, including evening hours, to support operational needs and testing schedules.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience required
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance required
  • Ability work with radiation and certify as a NYS radiation worker required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, or similar) preferred
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes and electronic test equipment preferred
  • Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Excel, or similar platforms) preferred
  • Familiarity with engineering validation, testing, and documentation processes preferred
  • Prior experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering analysis to support diagnostic development, system performance evaluation, operational activities and ensure system safety
  • Collect, process, and interpret technical data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance improvements
  • Use CAD software to review, and develop experimental platforms
  • Conduct laboratory and field-testing using equipment such as oscilloscopes and other diagnostic tools
  • Support validation and verification activities through structured test planning and documentation
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and test plans to provide clear direction for technicians and operators
  • Develop technical reports summarizing findings, recommendations, and conclusions
  • Work with scientific community experts to organize and plan experimental platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, engineering, and operations
  • Participate as a SME in diagnostic and software development
  • Participate in shift-based coverage (1–2 times per week), including evenings, as required
  • Initial training as a technician and operator to build foundational expertise in the experimental system
