Acts as a resource for new or lower level engineers. We are in search of a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in design engineering. The candidate will provide engineering solutions to a diverse range of complex technical problems throughout LLE. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of machine component design, materials, knowledge of manufacturing processes and experience with complex mechanical systems. Experience in opto-mechanics, precision mechanics, tool and fixture design, high vacuum systems, heat transfer, motion control, and/or precision metrology is desired. Requirements

  • BSME with 5+ years industry experience.
  • Proficient with CAD software, Siemens NX preferred.
  • Competent with FEA software

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in opto-mechanics, precision mechanics, tool and fixture design, high vacuum systems, heat transfer, motion control, and/or precision metrology is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs of mechanical parts and assemblies based on project requirements.
  • Provide supporting safety and engineering analyses as required.
  • Prepare materials for engineering design reviews.
  • Prepare technical drawings in compliance with industry standards.
  • Work both independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team.
