Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years related experience with diesel and gasoline engines, and heavy equipment repair.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access and Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal/external business partners.
  • Ability to function effectively with, or as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to perform in a detail-oriented environment.
  • Ability to exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment.
  • Ability to analyze complex information requests and determine complex trends.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work demands.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent technical decisions in order to make timely and effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school preferred.
  • Class A CDL or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular on-site surveys of equipment to determine needed repairs.
  • Troubleshoots and makes appropriate repairs, including fabrication and welding.
  • Maintains and lubricates machine tools and equipment.
  • May change tires, batteries and other parts.
  • May also be responsible for Cargo Tank testing to ensure that U.S. DOT specifications are being met.
