The purpose of this job is to perform mechanical fleet maintenance services for company trucks and trailers from a physical shop location or designated mobile unit. This role involves completing preventive and routine maintenance, preparing trucks for inspection, obtaining parts, responding to maintenance service calls, diagnosing and repairing vehicle malfunctions, and documenting work performed. The mechanic will also maintain the service truck, respond to roadside tire repair calls, and ensure shop areas are clean and safe. Specific tasks include oil changes, cooling system service, wheel end work, tire replacement, HVAC diagnosis, belt and hose replacement, electrical system diagnosis and repair, drive train repairs, exhaust repairs, suspension work, and diagnosing/repairing PTO-driven hydraulic pump systems. The role also requires diagnosing and troubleshooting using diagnostic software and tools for various truck components.
