About The Position

We are seeking a Sr Material Planner based out of our corporate office in Oak Brook, IL. The Sr Material Planner leads material planning activities to ensure production continuity while balancing inventory, working capital, and warehouse capacity. The role serves as a subject matter expert for material planning, supports system enhancements, trains new team members, and provides backup leadership when needed. You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to: Lead material requirements planning for assigned categories or materials. Develop and maintain material planning assumptions with cross-functional partners. Monitor supply plans and determine impacts on material requirements schedules. Resolve back orders, short stock, excess items, slow-moving inventory, and supplier issues with internal and external partners. Analyze supplier performance and inventory trends to improve service, reduce waste, and optimize inventory turns. Manage component transitions related to reformulations, redesigns, new product introductions, and item discontinuations. Serve as a trainer for new hires and subject matter expert for material planning. Support system enhancements and provide backup support as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of supply chain, production scheduling, demand planning, material planning, replenishment, or inventory planning experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Statistics, Operations Research, or related field is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IBP/SIOP processes is strongly preferred.
  • Experience training or mentoring others is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and Power BI is preferred.
