About The Position

Join our dedicated Dock Specialist team in Unity Lab Services, where we ensure seamless logistics and support tailored to our customers' unique needs. We’re seeking a knowledgeable Waste Specialist to safely handle our bio-hazardous and non-hazardous waste from laboratory areas. Ensure proper handling of all hazardous waste. Collect, transport and store bio-hazardous and non-hazardous waste from laboratory areas to designated accumulation points in compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures. Perform waste consolidation activities, including container handling and preparation for disposal. Operate and maintain waste handling equipment such as autoclaves for waste treatment and sterilization. May perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2 years of work experience in bio-hazardous or hazardous material handling, waste management or related operational support.
  • Strong understanding of bio-hazardous and pharmaceutical waste handling practices.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a safety-first approach.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding and following SOPs, safety procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Regular lifting of containers up to 75 lbs. consistently.
  • Standing, walking, reaching, and bending are frequent activities, sometimes in varied environmental conditions.

  • Experience in laboratory or pharmaceutical environments
  • Experience in a cGMP environment
