This role involves working with the Materials manager and Principal Materials Analyst to assist in developing strategic plans and leveraging the supply base to meet the company's Materials management and procurement requirements in terms of quality, delivery and cost. The Sr Material Analyst will continuously evaluate and improve the Materials management activities of the company, working with vendors to ensure Turnaround Time (TAT), quality, and cost performance. The employee will be responsible for tracking and delivery assurance activities, creating standard work to ensure continuity of critical functions within the materials and Shipping/Receiving department, and learning various roles and responsibilities within the materials group. Additionally, the role includes ordering materials and collaborating with the Spares group to facilitate timely materials receipt.

Requirements

  • HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft products

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years working in the materials department
  • Knowledge of the materials department at PSD

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Materials manager, and Principal Materials Analyst to assist in developing strategic plans and leveraging the supply base to meet the company's Materials management and procurement requirements in terms of quality, delivery and cost
  • Continuously evaluates and improves the Materials management activities of the company
  • Works with vendors to ensure TAT, quality and cost performance
  • Engage in tracking and delivery assurance responsibilities and activities
  • Work to create standard work to ease the transition of roles in the materials department, and to ensure continuity of the critical functions of the materials and Shipping/Receiving department
  • Vendor communication
  • Monitoring and tracking Vendor TAT and OTD
  • Monitors and tracks department errors
  • Participates as a team member in Root cause analysis to help us resolve systemic issues
  • Exchange document creation
  • Standard work creation
  • Daily report generation
  • Shop communication
  • Responsible for learning various roles and responsibilities within the materials group
  • Orders materials and works with Spares group to facilitate timely materials receipt
