Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Sr. Marketing Manager, Robotics – Innovation Lead located in Warsaw, IN, Raynham, MA, Palm Beach Gardens, FL or Leeds, UK. This position will require approximately 30–40% travel. The Robotics Innovation Lead will serve as a senior strategic leader and subject matter expert in Knee Arthroplasty, Robotics and Digital Surgery, responsible for shaping the long-term innovation strategy, technology roadmap, and multigenerational product portfolio for the VELYS Robotic-Assisted Solution and adjacent robotic platforms. Through market intelligence gathering, adjacent technology analysis, surgeon voice of customer initiatives, and deep collaboration with the Advanced Technologies teams, this leader will identify unmet clinical and customer needs, define future platform requirements, and translate emerging technologies and market trends into actionable innovation strategies. This individual will also be the commercial lead for active next generation robotics programmes, responsible for bringing product to market and supporting full commercialisation before future integration of the Robotic solution into the respective pathology areas in which they support. While primarily focused on Knee Arthroplasty applications, this role will also help shape the future of cross-platform robotic, digital and enabling technologies across the DePuy Synthes portfolio. The Sr. Marketing Manager, Robotics – Innovation Lead will report to the Global Head of Robotics, Digital Surgery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate qualification in a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Marketing, Product Management, Strategy, Innovation, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in Medical Devices, Orthopaedics (Knee Arthroplasty), and Robotics, Surgical Navigation, Digital Surgery, or related technologies.
  • Proven track record developing product strategies, innovation roadmaps, technology portfolios, and business cases that inform investment decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through commercialisation while influencing senior stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and commercial acumen with the ability to prioritize and deliver multiple high-impact initiatives with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Experience defining long-term strategic vision, translating insights into execution plans, and delivering measurable business results.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, influencing, and executive stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work within cadaver lab and operating room environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading surgeon advisory boards, customer engagement programs, market development initiatives, and innovation governance processes.
  • Experience in Digital Health, Software, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic leader shaping the future innovation strategy, roadmap and portfolio for robotic-assisted surgery.
  • Identify disruptive technologies, unmet customer needs and market opportunities, translating insights into actionable growth strategies.
  • Lead technology scouting, surgeon Voice of Customer initiatives and market assessments to inform future platform investments.
  • Define and maintain multigenerational product and technology roadmaps aligned with customer, market and business needs.
  • Develop Target Product Profiles, business cases and strategic investment recommendations to support portfolio decisions.
  • Drive cross-functional innovation programs from concept and prototyping through product development and global commercialization.
  • Partner with Engineering, R&D, Clinical, Finance, Business Development and Strategy teams to evaluate new technologies, partnerships and M&A opportunities.
  • Build alignment and influence decision-making across global matrix organizations to deliver strategic business objectives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on robotics innovation, portfolio strategy and future growth opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement while mentoring and developing team members.
