About The Position

Responsible for directing and managing the selling and marketplace execution to retail customers within a defined market geography. This role involves executing selling/delivery functions for a defined geography as defined by G&J's AOP strategy, and is responsible for marketplace retail execution of selling initiatives and programs. The Sr Market Director supports a company-wide collaborative approach to business by providing recommendations on sales, marketing, and retail execution initiatives that will impact the company’s success. The role effectively communicates the organization's initiatives to assure optimal performance, analyzes marketplace competition and performance, and reports findings. Additionally, the Sr Market Director coordinates sales distribution by establishing and assigning sales territories, quotas and goals, and advises both internal and external customers concerning sales and merchandising techniques. The position involves analyzing and controlling department expenditures to conform to budgetary requirements, and establishing and authorizing budget expenditures to provide the necessary merchandising tools and equipment. The Sr Market Director prepares and analyzes sales reports including, but not limited to sales volume, package mix and potential sales, and allocates resources to maximize results. The role monitors and assesses competitive activity, market execution, and customer satisfaction. It guides and directs departmental accountability through the Talent Management process including talent acquisition, on-boarding, and development of succession planning to maximize human capital and business performance. The Sr Market Director maintains confidentiality of financial information, promotions, pricing, CDA contracts, profit and loss reports, customer information, employee information (e.g., discipline, wage information) and other sensitive and confidential information. The role ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g., OSHA and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local laws). The Sr Market Director works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field (two-year college or technical school) or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10 years of proven progressive, strategic experience and success in a sales position with responsibility for management of key or large customer base
  • 3-5 years of previous CPG (beverages preferred) supervisory experience
  • Ability to obtain and meet industry licensing requirements as needed
