About The Position
Supermicro is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to facilitate improvement projects and Kaizen events aimed at waste elimination and efficiency enhancement in manufacturing processes, yield, and cycle time. This role requires a process-oriented mindset to analyze complex operations, support the implementation of the plant's strategic plan, provide project management, and contribute to employee training and development.
Requirements
- BS/MS Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering preferred
- 8+ years relevant work experience with storage component and system, server and hard drives industry preferred.
- Hands-on with PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text).
- Experience with SCADA/HMI platforms (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition).
- Familiarity with robotics, sensors, VFDs, and servo systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical controls, instrumentation, and pneumatics.
- Knowledge of network protocols (Modbus, OPC UA, Ethernet/IP).
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Tools/Technologies: PLCs, SCADA, HMI, LabVIEW, Python, RSLogix, Ignition, OPC UA, PID control
Responsibilities
- Design and program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and HMIs for automated machinery.
- Troubleshoot and maintain existing automation systems.
- Develop SCADA solutions and integrate with plant systems.
- Work on control panel design and electrical schematics.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration.
