About The Position

This role will be tasked with continuous improvement for multiple areas of a manufacturing plant with focus on warehousing efficiency, manufacturing labor efficiency, as well as product flow efficiency. With other site leadership help, the role will need to be able to implement solutions associated with virtual warehousing systems, site layout/ design, warehousing automation, and simple assembly automation. The person selected will need to be able to use basic lean and six sigma tools to identify root cause and solutions along with using project management tools to implement the solutions and develop long term controls. The manufacturing site is in Memphis, TN and will be an onsite role that reports directly to the site leader. We embrace supply chain strategies such as postponement and product customization for Cardiovascular, Neuroscience, and Medical Surgical portfolios. The facility provides comprehensive services in product release for contract manufactured products, product packaging, surgical kitting, device software loading, and custom spinal rod manufacturing. The site plays a critical role in delivering high-quality medical devices and custom solutions across multiple therapeutic areas. The facility encompasses 90,000 square feet and employs approximately 125 staff members who embody a strong commitment to efficient and effective manufacturing operations. Act boldly. Compete to win. Requirements

  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience OR PhD with 0 years relevant experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
  • The employee is also required to interact with a computer, and communicate with peers and co-workers.
  • U.S. work authorization sponsorship (H-1B, TN, J, etc.) is offered exclusively for Principal-level roles and above, where specialized expertise aligns with long-term business needs. Roles below the Principal level require candidates to possess unrestricted U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience implementing simple assembly/ packaging automation (Robotics preferred)
  • Experience designing, installing, or maintaining warehouse automation
  • Experience with SAP engineering and warehousing modules
  • Experience onboarding new manufacturing lines associated with simple assembly and/or machining
  • Experience in medical device packaging process development
  • DFM/ Lean/ Six Sigma belt certification
  • Strong experience with statistical analysis and DOE using tools such as Minitab or JMP
  • Experience with equipment qualification and process validation using DOTM (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Experience with Transform, Loftware, and TK Central labeling platforms
  • Experience supporting product or process transfers between manufacturing sites
  • Experience working with SAP Centerpiece, MII, Windchill, Agile MAP
  • Proficient with 3D Modeling software for facility or products

Responsibilities

  • Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling with a focus on automation solutions
  • Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
  • Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
  • Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
  • May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan using automated vision-based equipment and processes
  • Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
  • Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.
  • Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.
