This position will be based at the BorgWarner Arden facility in Western North Carolina and will transition to a new facility in Hendersonville, NC. Requirements

  • BS degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
  • 5+ years of experience is required, non automotive is preferred.
  • Vision system programming experience required
  • DC electric torque systems experience is required
  • Understanding of lean principles with demonstrated application is required
  • Understanding of the APQP process with demonstrated application is required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing large capital equipment projects within deadlines is required
  • Demonstrated experience with new project costing, involvement in financial analysis is required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Nice To Haves

  • Leak testing experience is preferred
  • Experience with high speed balancing of flexible rotors is a plus
  • Working knowledge of SAP system is a plus.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, & document assembly line improvements
  • Works with equipment vendors to develop & implement equipment improvements
  • Develop, implement and documents effective cost reductions on time.
  • Specifies and executes machine purchases including verification of machine quality, performance and effect on process.
  • Interacts effectively with all levels of the organization, frequently participating on or leading cross functional teams.
  • Works as part of cross functional group for new program launches, cost improvement activities
  • Works within design procedures of ISO and Quality Systems
  • Participates in customer project reviews
  • Maintains project status reports for scheduling
  • Assures adherence to standard manufacturing practices
  • Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.
  • Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Communicates and enforces safe work procedures.
  • Identifies and closes safety issues (suggestions, inspection and investigation findings) and their corrective actions.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
