About The Position

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer role at the Roxboro NC Eaton location is part of the Vehicle Group North America organization. The primary function of this role is to provide day to day support for Roxboro’s high speed assembly and grinding processes in a manufacturing environment. The day to day support would include activities such as: leading troubleshooting for tooling usage, advising maintenance technicians on machine repairs, assisting with troubleshooting of part quality issues, and mentoring machine technicians on proper machine setup. A primary goal of this position would be to aid in the development of our maintenance technicians and assist in the standard work related to machine repair to decrease down time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university with 3 years of experience working as a manufacturing or process engineer ... or... HS Degree with 7+ years of same mfg. experince.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks.
  • Previous experience with grinding processes / tooling in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma project experience.
  • Experience with 3D CAD modeling and the creation of detailed drawings
  • One plus year experience collaborating and participating in engineering projects.
  • Ability to gather and analyze relevant data of manufacturing operations and processes in order to optimize throughput, reduce scrap, and improve quality while ensuring the safety of plant personnel.
  • Must possess effective and verbal communications skills.
  • Must possess good organizational and prioritization skills to maintain and address multiple assigned projects and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze complex mechanical assemblies for our product lines.
  • Provide innovative ideas for improvements to existing products.
  • Provide technical support to operators, maintenance technicians, supervisors and managers as required
  • Drive continuous improvement utilizing lean tools
  • Ensure accurate documentation for processes
  • Ensure quality standards
  • Design/implement product or process changes as required
  • Drive cost reduction efforts and productivity improvements
  • Participate in various cross-functional teams relative to product development or process improvement
  • Provide training for operators and maintenance technicians on process changes
  • Maintain an attitude supportive of continuous improvement, teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
