Requirements

  • Proficient in Thing Works, Kepware, Ladder Logic
  • Ability to visualize and design work in 2D and 3D.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work within fast-paced, schedule driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of five (5) years to eight (8) of progressive, hands-on manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of formal problem-solving methods.
  • Experience with financial controls and product costing.
  • Previous experience with new products and process introductions.
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices and procedures is also required.
  • In the absence of a four (4) degree in engineering, a minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) years experience is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, & PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor software is preferred.
  • A minimum of one (1) year HVAC experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the current manufacturing and facilities associated with manufacturing methods and processes in the plant facility.
  • Develops solutions for production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling.
  • Supports new products and programs by developing new processes, designing tooling and machinery, and developing production controls.
  • Responsible for set-up of new equipment, ensures proper operation of the new equipment, and teaches others the proper use of this equipment.
  • Accountable for applying sound economic methods to equipment and space utilization to meet design and quality criteria with the lowest expense and consistent with the facilities financial and non-financial objectives.
  • Reviews specifications and bid proposals and cost estimate requests to establish the feasibility of accepting orders.
  • Determines manufacturability, investment requirements, product cost and delivery schedules.
  • Responsible for Capital justification, CNC/Programming, Tool Design and Selection.
  • Manages capital equipment planning and procurement activities.
  • Develops processes, methods, tooling, and production controls for new products and programs; supervises their assembly and proofing.
  • Maintains, operates, and troubleshoots manufacturing support software.
  • Plans, justifies and implements facility changes to produce the forecasted volume of product economically.
  • Provides technical assistance to the plant including Materials, Quality Control, Engineering, and Safety.
  • Supports Lean Manufacturing and Flow Manufacturing.
  • Supports production to resolve any manufacturing issues.
  • Supports and leads 5S activities.
  • Participates in and leads Kaizen events.
