About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Workforce and Education Partnerships serves as The Health Collaborative's (THC) primary education liaison, responsible for expanding the region's healthcare talent pipeline through strategic partnerships with secondary education systems and community-based organizations. This position equips secondary educators with the information and resources they need to better advise and prepare students to pursue healthcare careers post high school, while also increasing access to meaningful healthcare career exploration for middle and high school students—particularly those from populations underrepresented in healthcare. The Sr. Manager provides direct outreach to regional teachers, counselors, and administrators and provides professional development, resource sharing, and ongoing partnership building.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in workforce development, education partnerships, K-12 outreach, or student career exploration programming
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing partnerships with secondary education institutions (middle schools, high schools, career centers)
  • Exceptional project management skills with demonstrated use of project management tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proven ability to influence people/partners
  • Event planning and management experience required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare recruiting, talent pipeline development, or work-based learning programs strongly preferred
  • Grant-funded program management experience preferred
  • Experience working with underrepresented or underserved student populations preferred
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Equivalent relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree

Responsibilities

  • Conduct 40+ visits annually to secondary schools throughout the tri-state region to connect educators with healthcare career pathway resources, promote career exploration opportunities, and identify additional resources needed to better advise and prepare students interested in pursuing healthcare careers
  • Develop and foster relationships with regional middle and high schools and school-based programs to drive student engagement in healthcare workforce programs
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with community-based organizations to expand reach to underrepresented student populations
  • Engage 100 educators annually through professional development events and district collaborations to equip secondary educators with the information and tools needed to effectively advise and prepare students for healthcare careers post high school
  • Develop and execute targeted healthcare professional development days for secondary educators, including CEU-approved events with panels, facility tours, and career pathway training
  • Plan and facilitate district-level professional development events annually to improve healthcare career advising capacity among teachers, counselors, and administrators
  • Partner with workforce team to create and maintain educator resources including career pathway information sheets, early college credit guides, video libraries, and advising tools tailored to in-demand healthcare roles
  • Partner with Workforce Innovation team to continue to expand student career exploration opportunities
  • Collaborate with team to connect students with experiential learning opportunities including Healthcare-in-a-Day events, facility tours, job shadowing, and hands-on career exploration activities
  • Support partnership development with healthcare employers throughout the region to create optimal experiential learning opportunities for students
  • Engage with healthcare occupation workgroups for the purposes of connecting students with healthcare professionals for mentorship opportunities
  • Partner with team on micro-grant program administration for Regional Career Education Collaborative (RCEC) partners, including promotions and application review
  • Collaborate with team on healthcare credential program initiatives and regional apprenticeship reporting
  • Partner with Workforce Innovation team to develop comprehensive healthcare career pathway information sheets covering in-demand roles including credential requirements, educational pathways, and early college credit opportunities
  • Collaborate on the development and upkeep of a sustainable resource portal for educators to access healthcare career resources, training opportunities, and student program information
  • Support team efforts to increase healthcare content on regional career exploration platforms including programs, speakers, and resources
  • Track and report on key performance indicators: students served, school visits completed, educators engaged, affinity group presentations, and online platform growth through project management system
  • In collaboration with other team members, prepare and submit reports to funders documenting progress toward objectives, including quantitative metrics and qualitative impact stories
  • Collaborate with THC's Workforce Innovation team to ensure alignment across talent pipeline programs (TAP HEALTH, HealthFORCE, etc.)
  • Work with THC communications team to ensure marketing and materials for education partnership programs follow appropriate brand requirements
  • Participate in grant writing for future workforce education initiatives
  • Ensure proper use and protection of information assets by complying with the organization's information privacy and security policies to protect assets from unauthorized access
  • Other duties as assigned
