Aecon Utilities is ready to become Canada’s #1 utility construction provider and we’re looking for a Project Manager to help us get there! The Senior Project Manager leads the delivery of large-scale high voltage transmission and linear infrastructure projects from development through construction, commissioning, and closeout. This role manages multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholder relationships, including regulators, customers, and Indigenous communities, to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading project portfolios with multiple priorities.
  • 10+ years of project management experience in utilities, transmission, substations, construction, or related linear infrastructure projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with contract management, project controls, and construction execution.
  • Willingness to travel and work on project sites as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of project delivery, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, cost, and environmental objectives are met.
  • Manage engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, permitting, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Oversee project governance, risk management, budgeting, forecasting, and executive reporting.
  • Lead contractor and consultant procurement, contract administration, and performance management.
  • Coordinate technical and operational teams to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Build strong relationships with regulators, municipalities, utilities, landowners, and Indigenous partners.
