Join us in advancing our mission to extend lives and expand possibilities. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Compliance & Reporting team. Reporting to the Global Tax Planning Director, this role will lead the preparation and review of U.S. federal and state income tax filings, own key components of the U.S. and global tax provision processes under ASC 740, and drive strategic tax initiatives across jurisdictions. The role serves as a senior technical leader within the tax organization, bringing enterprise-level judgment, strong U.S. federal and state technical tax knowledge, expanding non-U.S. tax exposure, leadership capability, and a demonstrated ability to influence process improvement and technology integration across cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of relevant tax compliance and provision experience, with either a public accounting firm or a multinational corporation’s in-house tax department.
  • Strong background in U.S. federal and state tax compliance and ASC 740 required.
  • Must have experience with OneSource tax software (or equivalent).
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Self-starter who takes initiative while seeking appropriate guidance.
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Tax, Finance, Accounting, Treasury and other departments in the U.S. and other countries.
  • A growth mindset exemplified by staying curious, continuously learning/improving, and embracing challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or advanced degree in Taxation preferred.
  • ERP systems knowledge (JDE, FCCS, Planful) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in workflow tools such as Alteryx and Power BI is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the review and technical assessment of book-to-tax adjustments for Vantive’s consolidated U.S. federal income tax return, ensuring positions are well-supported, consistently applied, and aligned with broader tax reporting objectives.
  • Coordinate and review state apportionment and modification calculations for accurate U.S. state corporate income tax filings.
  • Own the preparation and review process for U.S. federal and state income tax returns, including technical review, issue resolution, stakeholder coordination, and timely delivery of required filings.
  • Lead coordination with external service providers and internal teams to ensure timely, accurate tax filings and payments while resolving complex issues and driving accountability across the compliance calendar.
  • Oversee Vantive’s quarterly federal and state estimated tax payment calculations.
  • Lead Vantive’s ad hoc tax-related compliance processes (e.g., Form W-8, W-9, 1042 reporting)
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation, assess enterprise impact on tax compliance and reporting and recommend appropriate actions to tax leadership and key business stakeholders.
  • Drive the calculation of Vantive’s U.S. state tax blended rate, other U.S. state tax balances relevant to the financial statements, and U.S. state tax forecast.
  • Lead key inputs into the calculation of Vantive’s global annual effective tax rate (AETR) and cash tax forecast, partnering with global tax, finance, and accounting stakeholders to resolve issues and improve forecast accuracy.
  • Lead the preparation and review of quarterly and annual global income tax provision calculations under ASC 740, including financial statement footnotes, technical documentation, and coordination across global tax teams.
  • Review tax accounting journal entries.
  • Analyze and document current and deferred tax positions, including FIN 48 reserves and valuation allowances.
  • Review and challenge international tax provisions, tax returns, and provision-to-return workpapers in coordination with non-U.S. tax teams and external advisors, ensuring alignment with global reporting requirements and risk management expectations.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of documentation to support SOX compliance, ensuring control evidence, tax accounting judgments, and process documentation meet internal control and audit expectations.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of workpapers, controls, and related processes to support Vantive’s U.S. state income tax compliance and provision calculations at scale.
  • Provide thought leadership in the use of OneSource Income Tax, OneSource Tax Provision, Power BI, Alteryx, and AI tools to enhance productivity, strengthen reporting capabilities, and improve data-driven decision-making across tax processes.
  • Develop and maintain tax-related policies and procedures.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and accounting standards and assess their impact.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching, and direction to junior tax staff and cross-functional contributors, building capability across the tax compliance and reporting team.
  • Manage workload distribution, project timelines, technical priorities, and issue escalation within the tax compliance and reporting team, ensuring execution against critical reporting and filing deadlines.
  • Research federal, state, and local taxation and transfer pricing issues.
  • Stay abreast of federal and state legislative changes that may impact tax filings and tax provision computation, and assist in education of key stakeholders.
  • Assist with modeling of tax reform/business changes and related impact on federal and state taxes.
