The Impact You Will Make As the Senior Supply Chain Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for end-to-end supply chain activities supporting development, clinical, and commercial manufacturing programs within a regulated pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO). You will lead planning, inventory management, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), customer supply activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring uninterrupted material availability, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. Working cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, Finance, Customer Program Management, and Commercial teams, you will develop scalable supply chain processes, strengthen organizational capabilities, and drive operational excellence to support rapid business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field; Master's degree or Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment; pharmaceutical or contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) experience preferred.
  • Proven experience leading Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) or Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.
  • Strong background in production planning, inventory management, and demand/supply alignment.
  • Experience in a contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), contract manufacturing, or complex make-to-order manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-controlled materials is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience supporting rapid business growth and organizational scaling initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies that support business growth, customer commitments, and operational excellence objectives.
  • Build scalable supply chain processes and organizational capabilities to support expanding manufacturing operations.
  • Lead supply chain transformation initiatives focused on capacity utilization, inventory optimization, service level improvement, and cost reduction.
  • Identify risks and opportunities within the supply network and implement mitigation plans.
  • Lead the monthly Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, balancing customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory levels, and financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Finance teams to develop accurate demand and supply plans.
  • Drive executive decision-making through data-driven analysis and scenario planning.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee demand planning, supply planning, production planning, and inventory management activities.
  • Establish inventory strategies that balance customer service requirements with working capital objectives.
  • Manage inventory health, including safety stock, excess and obsolete inventory, and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure appropriate supply planning for development, clinical, and commercial manufacturing programs.
  • Collaborate with Program Management and customers to ensure supply chain readiness for product launches, scale-up activities, and commercial growth.
  • Provide supply chain expertise during customer onboarding, technology transfers, and process validation activities.
  • Act as an escalation point for customer supply issues and develop recovery plans as needed.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain processes.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including On-Time In-Full (OTIF), Inventory Turns, Forecast Accuracy, Schedule Adherence, Customer Service Levels, and Material Availability.
  • Drive Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and planning system enhancements to improve visibility and decision-making.
  • Ensure all supply chain activities comply with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), European Medicines Agency (EMA), and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Maintain data integrity and documentation practices aligned with pharmaceutical quality standards.
  • Partner closely with Quality Assurance to support compliant operations.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate supply chain risks, including capacity constraints, material shortages, and regulatory delays.
  • Lead cross-functional issue resolution and escalation management.
  • Drive contingency planning and ensure readiness for regulatory or operational disruptions.
  • Provide clear and timely communication of risks to internal leadership and customers.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of planners and customer operations professionals.
  • Establish clear performance objectives aligned with organizational Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Build organizational capability in planning excellence and customer engagement.
