About The Position

The Sr Manager, Special Projects (IKC) reports directly to the COO and has an active role within the Operating Leadership team. This teammate will be responsible for partnering with various functions across the business to drive strategic planning, management process, business communications, and aggregating / synthesizing information to support business processes and decision-making. The role involves managing and driving strategic and operational initiatives, structuring ambiguous problems, developing and communicating project scope, timeline, and resource requirements, and creating/implementing processes to improve clinical and business outcomes. The position requires regular communication of project status to senior leadership and managing against targets. Travel is required up to 25%.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in Strategy, Consulting with Project Management, or a similar role supporting enterprise-level initiatives within healthcare or financial operations leadership
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • At least 5 years of experience in a strategic or operational leadership role
  • A minimum of 1 year of project management experience
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
  • Must be comfortable researching and presenting internal and external data to help senior leaders make decisions
  • Demonstrated track record of top performance and desire to help improve our overall healthcare system.
  • Highly organized, structured working style with strong project management skills
  • Discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information
  • Interest and curiosity in a broad array of topics and issues
  • Confidence to work effectively with senior teammates
  • Strong analytical and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Support the Chief Operating Officer in crafting and executing strategic initiatives
  • Organize core operating efforts and drive collaboration across lanes
  • Support internal/external communication by helping to craft and deliver key messages
  • Highlight management process gaps or improvement opportunities, then implement solutions
  • Lead critical projects working across multiple service lanes; monitor metrics, track progress of initiatives, and prepare presentations for senior leadership
  • Collaborate across teams to perform analyses and synthesize results
  • Support in the development and improvement of a top-performing operations leadership team
  • Work across operational and innovation teams to advance best-in-class capabilities in the market
  • Regularly apprise the COO of project status and variations from the schedule or scope
  • Manages and drives strategic and operational initiatives in collaboration with other teams
  • Able to structure ambiguous problems into clear workstreams and drive execution
  • Develops and communicates project scope, timeline, plan, resource requirements, and assumptions
  • Creates, implements, and drives the adoption of processes and solutions to further clinical and business outcomes
  • Communicates project status updates and needs to senior leadership; prepares, reports, and manages against targets/goals, including scope, schedule, metrics, and revenue
  • Scope, plan, and execute multiple, often quick-turnaround projects with minimal assistance
