About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Software Development is the senior engineering leader for the Software Solutions business and is accountable for the people, architecture, delivery, quality, security, and reliable operation of the Auction.IO marketplace platform. The role leads a geographically distributed U.S. and India engineering organization responsible for designing, delivering, operating, and continuously improving a multi-tenant SaaS platform for online auction businesses. The leader establishes the technical vision and engineering operating model needed to scale Auction.IO to approximately 1,000 clients, while improving delivery predictability, onboarding efficiency, availability, performance, security, maintainability, and cost effectiveness. The role balances product roadmap delivery, client commitments, technical debt, operational support, and long-term platform modernization. Success is measured through team development and retention, roadmap delivery, release quality, service availability, incident recovery, security remediation, technical-debt reduction, and progress toward scalable client growth. This position directly and indirectly supervises a geographically distributed engineering organization that may include technical leads, software engineers, quality-assurance engineers, contractors, and strategic delivery partners. It is responsible for hiring, onboarding, goal setting, performance management, coaching, career development, succession planning, workforce planning, and corrective action when necessary. The position is hybrid in Richardson, Texas, with 0–10% travel. The work takes place in an office environment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Lead technical responses to major production incidents and ensure root-cause analysis, corrective actions, ownership, communication, and follow-through to prevent recurrence.
  • Partner with Security and Infrastructure teams to ensure the platform meets applicable enterprise, contractual, privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Client Services and implementation teams to define viable solutions, estimates, integration approaches, data migrations, and implementation plans.
  • Participate in strategic client discussions, solution reviews, sales or renewal support, and escalations requiring senior technical leadership; explain constraints, alternatives, risks, and tradeoffs in business terms.
  • Establish governance for client-specific requests to protect the product roadmap, reduce platform fragmentation, and promote reusable product capabilities.
