About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Stores and Retail Operations is a senior field & operations leader responsible for building, operationalizing, and elevating Dyson’s Direct Retail store portfolio across the United States. This role merges operational excellence with multi-store leadership - overseeing store performance, operational infrastructure, people development, customer experience, and cross-functional execution. You will partner closely with senior retail leadership, Store Leaders, and cross-functional teams to ensure our stores deliver a seamless, consistent, and iconic Dyson experience. This leader balances strategy with hands-on execution, strong analytical capability, and an obsession for operational efficiency and owner satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years in multi-unit retail leadership and/or previous retail operations leadership.
  • Previous experience managing retail P&Ls and driving business results.
  • Strong understanding of store operations, retail systems, and customer experience strategy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage complex projects, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Innovative thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and people leadership skills.
  • Able to travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

  • Retail Operations Leadership
  • Own the operational infrastructure, systems, and day-to-day functionality of all Direct Retail stores across the United States.
  • Create, refine, and implement standard operating procedures across all store formats.
  • Ensure stores are operationally equipped to deliver a frictionless and consistent customer experience.
  • Manage all retail audits, compliance requirements, and operational documentation (policies, procedures, onboarding guides, etc.).
  • Oversee all store IT infrastructure, systems maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Lead operational readiness for all new store openings, remodels, or new retail format launches.
  • Drive execution of global retail operations initiatives within the Americas.
  • People Leadership & Field Development
  • Lead, develop, and coach Store Leaders and all store leadership to build high-performing store teams.
  • Create development plans, performance coaching, and succession pathways.
  • Drive a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and customer obsession.
  • Partner with the Education team to ensure all operational, product, and store training is delivered effectively and on time according to Dyson’s standards.
  • Foster strong team engagement and a culture aligned to Dyson’s values and behaviors.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the Retail Operations team.
  • Business & Financial Management
  • Manage store P&Ls to achieve sales, profitability, and operational targets.
  • Analyze sales & operational data to forecast demand, optimize staffing, product mix, and store performance.
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to identify selling/business opportunities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Manage operational expense budgets, vendor relationships, and contract oversight.
  • Customer Experience & Brand Standards
  • Champion the Dyson demo-led retail experience, ensuring exceptional engagement in every store.
  • Partner with Store Leaders to elevate in-store demos, community engagement, and event execution.
  • Ensure stores uphold Dyson brand integrity and deliver an iconic and educational customer journey.
  • Build strategies that enhance customer satisfaction, drive conversion, and maximize traffic.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Build strong partnerships with Marketing, Education, Merchandising, HR, Global Retail Operations, and IT.
  • Serve as the voice of the stores—capturing feedback, identifying risks/opportunities, and informing strategic decisions.
  • Ensure timely, clear, and effective communication across field teams and corporate stakeholders.
