About The Position

Gilead Sciences Inc. is seeking a Sr. Manager, Rebates to support the day-to-day administration, project execution, analytical oversight, and processing of Managed Care Commercial/Medicare Part D contract payments, with shared accountability for accuracy, timeliness, compliance, and continuous improvement. Lead day-to-day Managed Care Commercial and Medicare Part D rebate operations, including customer invoice review, dispute resolution, payment validation, operational controls, and execution of timely and accurate rebate payments. This position plays a key leadership role in supporting accurate and timely Managed Care Commercial/Medicare Part D rebate operations, with emphasis on analytical problem solving, clear communication, cross-functional collaboration, compliance, and execution discipline. The Sr. Manager will use reporting, claims analysis, systems fluency, and data validation to identify trends, resolve issues, improve processes, and support sound business decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Six Years' Experience OR PhD and Two Years' Experience
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex operational, contractual, and data-driven issues to team members, cross-functional partners, and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy, compliance, and execution discipline.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to use reporting and complex data sets to identify trends, root causes, risks, and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong judgment to identify risks, escalate appropriately, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Ability to influence outcomes, guide team execution, and build accountability without direct reporting authority.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Managed Care rebate operations, rebate processing, claims analysis, contract administration, and systems such as Model N preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Managed Care rebate operations, projects, and cross-functional initiatives with accountability for assigned timelines, quality, controls, and outcomes.
  • Use reporting, claims analysis, data mining, and systems fluency to identify trends, root causes, payment risks, operational gaps, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate clearly with internal partners, senior leaders, external customers, and vendors to align on issues, explain findings, and drive timely resolution.
  • Oversee customer submission review, validation, exception resolution, and rebate payment processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and contractual compliance.
  • Ensure compliant rebate operations by following applicable program rules, contractual requirements, controls, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster an inclusive, transparent team environment where diverse perspectives and constructive challenge are encouraged.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, and feedback to team members in partnership with Commercial Contracting leadership, helping strengthen analytical judgment, accountability, and end-to-end problem-solving capability.
  • Support and coordinate end-to-end issue resolution by assessing downstream impacts, exercising escalation judgment, and helping drive sustainable fixes across systems, teams, and external partners.
  • Support product launches and related rebate operational impacts from a Managed Care perspective.
