Requirements

  • Deep expertise in HACCP, Preventive Controls, sanitation, environmental monitoring, and quality systems.
  • Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Experience designing and scaling FSQA systems across multiple manufacturing sites.
  • Strong analytical and risk-based thinking with ability to identify systemic issues and drive solutions.
  • Experience leading audit readiness and regulatory inspections.
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Ability to translate regulatory and technical requirements into standardized, executable programs.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation discipline.
  • Proficiency in FSQA systems, data tools, and MS Office suite.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science/technology, Microbiology, or related field required.
  • 10–12 plus years of food safety & quality experience in food manufacturing.
  • Strong experience developing and implementing FSQA systems across multiple sites.
  • Demonstrated experience working within both FDA and USDA regulatory environments.
  • Significant experience in sanitation and environmental monitoring program design and execution.
  • Experience leading regulatory inspections, audit readiness, and compliance programs.
  • Prior leadership experience with enterprise or cross-functional responsibilities required.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the design, standardization, and governance of enterprise FSQA systems, ensuring alignment from corporate standards through site-level execution.
  • Establishes and maintains the framework for core FSQA programs across manufacturing, including: HACCP and Preventive Controls, Sanitation and environmental monitoring programs (EMP), Quality management systems, Traceability and recall readiness.
  • Ensures programs are scalable, standardized, and effectively implemented across all manufacturing facilities.
  • Owns the enterprise manufacturing regulatory compliance framework, translating FDA, USDA, and state requirements into standardized, executable programs.
  • Leads regulatory inspection readiness and supports agency interactions, serving as the central point of coordination for FSQA systems and documentation.
  • Establishes governance to ensure ongoing compliance, audit readiness, and consistent interpretation of regulatory requirements across all plants.
  • Establishes verification and validation processes to ensure FSQA systems and programs are effective, consistently executed, and driving intended food safety outcomes.
  • Drives risk-based program design using environmental monitoring trends, audit findings, and operational data to prioritize resources and mitigate risk.
  • Leads gap assessments, internal audits, and program reviews to identify systemic issues and drive continuous improvement.
  • Leads the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of sanitation and environmental monitoring programs across all facilities.
  • Ensures effective program design, verification, and trending to proactively identify and mitigate food safety risks.
  • Partners with plant teams to ensure consistent execution and accountability of sanitation and EMP programs.
  • Leads FSQA system strategy and optimization, ensuring effective integration, usability, and data integrity across platforms (e.g., SafetyChain, eBacMap, QA Studio).
  • Oversees enterprise FSQA data governance, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment between systems and reporting.
  • Enables real-time performance visibility and risk identification through strong partnership with analytics and data teams.
  • Leads and develops the Quality Systems & Regulatory Compliance team, including FSQA BI Manager and FSQA Coordinator.
  • Builds technical and functional capability across the organization through training, tools, and standardized processes.
  • Establishes clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards for system and program execution.
  • Partners with plant FSQA and Operations leadership to ensure consistent implementation and execution of standardized FSQA systems and programs.
  • Serves as the bridge between enterprise standards and plant-level execution, ensuring alignment and accountability.
  • Partners with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, and IT teams to ensure FSQA systems are integrated into broader business processes.
  • Supports enterprise initiatives by embedding FSQA system requirements into operational and technical solutions.
  • Leads continuous improvement of FSQA systems through standardization, digitization, and process optimization.
  • Supports enterprise FSQA transformation initiatives, including system implementations and modernization efforts.
