About The Position

The Manager, Program Management, is accountable for project delivery for medium to large complex projects that are often cross-organizational initiatives in support of strategic objectives. This position oversees a portfolio of projects (7-15 projects) for specific business divisions. This position manages 2-5 Project Managers, providing leadership and direction to ensure the successful delivery of project management solutions to support the strategic goals of HCA business. This position supports EPMO leadership in establishing, implementing, and maintaining project management governance, standards, methodology and processes.

Requirements

  • 10 + years of proven related project and/or program management experience, including at least 5 years in the financial services industry.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, MBA a plus
  • Project Management Professional certification (PMP) required
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experienced in change management
  • Expert in utilizing industry-standard project management methodologies and tools
  • Adept at standard office and project management applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Project Workbench.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading small to large-scale project initiatives to successful completion and implementation. Demonstrated record of leading others to achieve goals;
  • Very strong relationship management skills: highly effective communication skills that include ability to gain acceptance of others to a point of view.
  • Proven ability to manage direct staff and vendor relationships and hold them accountable to deliverables and budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact and influence peers, managers and senior leaders
  • Ability to identify and resolve/mitigate issues or risks associated with projects.
  • Experience in managing project budgets using budget software
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation and negotiation skills;
  • Self-motivated, self-assured, and self-managed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver business value by assuming responsibility for the delivery of medium to large complex projects that are often cross-organizational initiatives in support of strategic objectives. Ensure that all projects are managed within the company's project delivery framework and utilize company/industry- standard project management methodologies and tools. Responsible for program communications, identification of issues/risks and escalation of critical issues to senior leaders. Provides recommendations and/or solutions for identified issues.
  • Provides leadership to direct reports that includes coaching and feedback, employee development, and performance management. Leads project managers in a manner that ensures timely delivery on commitments/tasks in support of broader project deliverables. Ensure that project managers are meeting project timelines and commitments. Guides and supports project managers’ delivery of on-time and on-budget projects and programs.
  • Ensure that appropriately skilled resources are available to deliver on project commitments. Develops appropriate resource strategy for accomplishing project deliverables that may include utilization of internal or external resources that considers cost, expertise, and appropriateness to the respective project.
  • Works with business contacts and EPMO leaders to identify and maximize opportunities to improve processes, coordinate efforts to reduce cost and improve service offerings.
  • Serves as an advocate and change agent and persuades and influences courageously at all levels of the organization. Engages business leads and peers, interfaces with senior leaders across the organization; ensures service quality and customer satisfaction.
