About The Position

The Sr. Manager, Product Master Operations is a global leadership role within Supply Chain & Operations (SC&O) Systems, responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant product master data that enables DePuy Synthes’ end-to-end supply chain. This leader oversees product master data operations across regions and enterprise platforms, ensuring data is created, maintained, and governed with the rigor required to support manufacturing, planning, distribution, customer readiness, and business continuity in a highly regulated MedTech environment. This role has broad global impact and serves as a critical connector across Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, IT, R&D, and Commercial teams to ensure product data is fit for purpose across the product lifecycle—from new product introduction and change management through ongoing maintenance and discontinuation. The Sr. Manager is expected to drive operational excellence through standardization, performance management, and continuous improvement; strengthen data quality, controls, and audit readiness; and help shape scalable governance and operating models that improve speed, accuracy, and compliance. This position also plays an important role in business and systems transformation, translating evolving business requirements into sustainable master data processes and capabilities that support growth, resilience, and execution across a complex global medical device network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Information Systems, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in supply chain operations, master data management, or enterprise systems within a global organization.
  • Demonstrated people leadership experience managing and developing teams in a matrixed, global environment.
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-ERP / system environment required.
  • Familiarity with ERPs, particularly SAP (S/4HANA) and other enterprise software systems like CRM (Salesforce) and PLM (Windchill).
  • Strong understanding of product master data concepts and their impact on planning, manufacturing, quality, and distribution.
  • Experience operating within highly regulated environments (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences).
  • Proven ability to drive process standardization and operational excellence across regions.

  • Working knowledge of Computer System Validation (CSV), GxP, SOX, and audit-support requirements relevant to enterprise system deployments.
  • Proven capability in data governance, process standardization, data quality, controls, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving, and change leadership skills.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Certifications: Lean Six Sigma, or data management certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead global Product Master Operations within SC&O Systems, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant creation, maintenance, and governance of product master data across enterprise platforms and regional processes.
  • Own the operational execution and continuous improvement of product master data processes across the full product lifecycle, including new product introductions, changes, transfers, inactivations, and discontinuations.
  • Establish and evolve scalable data governance standards, business rules, controls, and decision rights to strengthen data integrity, audit readiness, traceability, and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated MedTech environment.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Manufacturing, IT, Planning, and Commercial teams to ensure product data is fit for purpose and ready to support global business operations.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing global team, building strong capabilities in operational execution, data stewardship, business process mapping, problem-solving, change leadership, and continuous improvement.
  • Define, monitor, and communicate key operational and data quality metrics, service levels, risks, and performance trends to drive accountability, transparency, and informed decision-making with senior leadership.
  • Drive standardization and simplification of product master processes across regions and systems, reducing variation, improving cycle times, and enabling a more consistent global operating model.
  • Identify, prioritize, and implement automation opportunities that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and increase throughput across master data operations, including workflow optimization, rules-based validations, and exception management.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to evaluate and apply AI-enabled and advanced analytics capabilities that enhance data quality monitoring, issue detection, process efficiency, and decision support, with appropriate governance and control.
  • Act as the business and operational subject matter expert for system enhancements, ERP and master data initiatives, and broader digital transformation efforts impacting product master data.
  • Support business continuity and transformation readiness by ensuring product data processes, roles, training, and controls can scale with organizational change, new platform capabilities, and evolving business needs.
  • Champion a culture of operational excellence, data accountability, and innovation by leveraging leading practices from the MedTech industry to improve service, resilience, and end-to-end supply chain performance.
