About The Position

This hybrid position will be located in New Brunswick, NJ (USA). Alternate Hybrid locations maybe considered at Raritan, NJ (USA); West Chester, PA (USA); Palm Beach Gardens, FL (USA); Raynham, MA (USA): or Loughbeg, Ringaskiddy, Ireland. Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes. The Senior Manager is responsible for leading the procurement strategy for the Business Services and IT categories as well as Business Engagement across International Markets. Operating in a complex, matrixed global environment, the role has a key accountability for Business Engagement, and ensuring Procurement strategy is executed across Internal markets. The Business Engagement responsibility entails a close partnership. They will deliver cost efficiency, quality, innovation, and sustainability outcomes that enable DPS’s business growth. Applying their category subject matter expertise, they will partner closely with key business partners to define sourcing strategies, shape the supply base, and drive supplier relationships. Determine the business needs in the categories and devise Procurement strategies to advance those priorities. Identify industry trends that Procurement must build into its category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • A minimum of 8 years of working experience in procurement or a related discipline is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of business, professional and IT services industry is required
  • Experience in Procurement and/or Category Management.
  • Experience developing category strategies or multi‑year sourcing roadmaps.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of cost drivers, market dynamics, and risk trade‑offs.
  • Experience in sourcing strategy, supplier management, competitive bidding and complex contract negotiation
  • Proficiency in Excel, with strong advanced analytics skills to analyze insights, spend, or supplier performance evaluation.
  • Familiarity with digital and AI procurement tools
  • Strong presentation and executive communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with and influence business partners.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross‑functional sourcing initiatives/projects.
  • Leadership, communication, influencing, and collaboration skills are required
  • Travel up to 10% domestic & international may be required
  • Strong business acumen – the ability to understand challenges through the eyes of the business leaders
  • Influencing skills – the ability to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information to senior executives
  • Demonstrated learning agility, and the ability to improve both yourself and the people around you

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
  • Experience in related industry strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in standing up a team and leading teams through organizational transformation is preferred
