About The Position

The Sr Manager, PMO Portfolio is responsible for the strategic oversight and governance of the IT project and program portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise technology objectives and business priorities. This role leads and mentors a team of program and project managers, providing direction and accountability for successful delivery of all initiatives within the portfolio. Oversees resource allocation, risk management, and interdependencies across projects, while ensuring adherence to security, compliance, and architectural standards. Partners with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and vendor partners to drive delivery excellence, foster continuous improvement, and build organizational capability in IT portfolio management practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or at least fifteen (15) years of experience
  • Minimum of 10‒16 years project management or related experience in a lead role
  • Typically holds one of the following Project Management Professional certifications; PMP, PgMP, PfMP, or related experience
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently.
  • Exceptional knowledge and handling of project management methodology and techniques.
  • Ability to work positively with the wide range of individuals involved in the project.
  • The ability to identify, analyze and solve complex and unique program related problems.
  • Ability to organize, plan, monitor and control project contractual requirements, budgets, schedules and technical work.
  • Exceptional Proficiency with PM tools and software (i.e. MS Office and MS Project) will be preferred.
  • Possesses exceptional communication skills both orally and in writing highly complex and unique technical issues to personnel who may or may not be in related technical fields.
  • Realization of financial aspects of approved business plans and budgets pertaining to the program.
  • Ability to direct the execution of complex programs.
  • The human relations skills necessary to maintain positive stakeholder contacts and provide leadership and motivation to subordinate staff and peers.
  • Working knowledge of ABS Health, Safety, Quality Management System

Responsibilities

  • Lead portfolio activities for their assigned area of responsibility.
  • Supervise program and project managers within area of responsibility.
  • Perform duties of Program Manager for those assigned.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned programs.
  • Direct and support develop of schedules/timelines/cost plans that support the business objectives, established budgets, resources, and project deliverables for each project.
  • Oversee day-to-day execution of the overall project delivery process, including coaching cross-functional teams.
  • Review and influence programs/projects to assure they are executed within approved budget and schedule
  • Managing risks and issues and direct/take corrective measurements.
  • Prepares technically accurate and timely reports related to the program.
  • Managing and utilizing resources across programs.
  • Managing stakeholders’ communication and prepare communications for management and updates.
  • Managing the main project documentation from project initiation through completion in accordance with the process instruction.
  • Stays actively informed concerning technical, business and management developments affecting the project and communicates this information promptly to the appropriate senior level managers.
  • Prepare and submit time charge records, expense reports, and invoice approvals in a timely manner in accordance with company procedures.
  • Negotiate budgets, schedules, project terms and conditions on specific proposal opportunities and change requests.
  • Coaches, motivates, mentors and more junior project managers.
  • Ensure integration of cybersecurity, data privacy, and regulatory compliance in all projects.
  • Lead IT resource capacity planning and demand management across applications, infrastructure, and digital initiatives.
