About The Position

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Sr. Manager, Operations for multiple positions available in Patterson, California. This role is responsible for all aspects of site operations, managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers. The position drives the creation of quality and process improvement initiatives, ensuring the functional area and Fulfillment Center meet business objectives. The Sr. Manager is accountable for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of Inbound or Outbound operations. They will set and clarify expectations for managers, measure performance, provide feedback, and hold managers accountable. This role leverages managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas for improvement plans and ensures best practices are shared across departments and the network. Collaboration with support staff such as HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, and IT is crucial for securing resources and support for projects.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation in an Operations, Manufacturing or Engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations, or a related field followed by 5 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation in an Operations, Manufacturing or Engineering role.
  • 1 year of experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
  • 1 year of experience with inventory management and working with cross functional stakeholders for project completion.
  • 1 year of experience of operations within a manufacturing, production or distribution environment

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for all aspects of operation or functions at the site, as well as managing and leading a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, build positive employee relations and build leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center
  • Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed business plan.
  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality, and performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
  • Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers.
  • Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.
  • Leverage the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.
  • Take proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.
  • Work closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area, as well as providing needed support and resources for other staff initiatives
