About The Position

This role is responsible for driving the creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Lean manufacturing initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed business plan. The Sr Manager, Operations will be responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance, and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations. This includes setting and clarifying requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measuring performance, providing feedback, and holding Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments. The role involves leveraging Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area. Proactive steps will be taken to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and among the network. Collaboration with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and other Sr. Operations Managers) is crucial for building and securing support and resources for projects and initiatives, as well as providing support for other staff initiatives. This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field and seven years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • Five years of experience in direct management and lean manufacturing optimization experience including working with a salaried workforce in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
  • Five years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean manufacturing methodology and techniques.
  • Five years of experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.
  • Domestic travel up to 25% may be required.
