Sr. Manager, Operations Engineering
About The Position
Flex is seeking a Sr. Manager, Operations Engineering in Milpitas, California. This role directs the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of engineering processes and procedures. It oversees methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products, ensuring effective use of materials, equipment, and resources to produce cost-effective, quality products and customer solutions. The position contributes to corporate and site strategy, leads engineers and staff, and manages planning, budgeting, and costs across a broad functional area. It works with executives, customers, outside regulatory agencies, and suppliers, and drives engineering strategies that meet customer requirements while recommending Flex’s manufacturing and engineering capabilities. The role may have P&L responsibility for the function.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
- A minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, including supervision.
- Mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and related businesses.
- Ability to affect the long-term direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site.
- Experience or capability to approve and/or create functional processes or technologies.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s or MBA degree.
Responsibilities
- Participate in reviews of customer contracts and engineering designs, outlining requirements and considerations.
- Assist product support areas in gathering and analyzing data.
- Participate with senior managers in establishing corporate strategic plans and objectives.
- Direct the activities of engineers and staff, and plan, budget, and maintain costs for a broad functional area.
- Interact regularly with executives, customers, and outside regulatory agencies.
- Drive engineering strategies to deliver customer requirements and recommend Flex capabilities in manufacturing and engineering services.
- Provide technical supplier management related to product development and integration.
- Establish and ensure effective achievement of functional strategic plans and objectives for the site.
- Develop plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.
